Most of the world does not travel in English
While AI travel apps race to win the American traveler, Skye is building for everyone else: ten plus languages, local payments, visa answers for your passport, and fares from your city.
NEW DELHI

The AI travel boom has a default setting. It chats in English, prices in dollars, assumes an American passport, and checks out with a credit card. That works beautifully for a market of a few hundred million people. It quietly ignores the several billion who take trips in Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, French, Italian and a hundred other tongues.
Skye, the voice first travel agent built in New Delhi, is making the opposite bet: the next great travel company will not be the one that plans the prettiest American vacation. It will be the one that talks to the whole world the way a local travel agent used to.
Localization is not translation
Skye speaks more than ten languages, and not like a phrasebook. Replies come back in the native script, phrased the way a native speaker would actually say them out loud. Ask in Hindi and Skye answers like a friend from Delhi, not like a textbook. Switch languages mid conversation and she follows you.
The localization runs deeper than words. Prices display in your currency, and saying “show me everything in euros” reprices the whole screen instantly. Visa guidance starts from the passport you actually hold, not a generic one. Deals are computed from your home airport, not from JFK. The result is an agent that feels like it grew up in your city.

India first, world next
The proving ground is India, one of the fastest growing air markets on earth and one the Silicon Valley travel stack treats as an afterthought. Skye books real tickets end to end with payments through Razorpay, charges one small flat fee instead of a hidden markup, and scans more than nine hundred routes a day for deals out of Indian cities.
The playbook is deliberately repeatable: local language, local payments, local routes, local prices. Win one underserved market properly and the same machinery carries to the next one.
“Every AI travel demo I see is a person in San Francisco planning a weekend in Napa. Nobody is building for my mother, who would rather plan her pilgrimage in Hindi than fill an English form. When Skye answers her in her own words, that is the product. Everything else is plumbing.”
