This travel agent was built by one engineer and an AI

There is a specific kind of company the travel industry knows how to picture: hundreds of engineers, a GDS integration team, a payments team, a data team, and an app that still makes you fill in nine form fields to see a fare. Skye is the other kind. It is one engineer in New Delhi, an AI pair programmer, and a shipping cadence that looks like a typo.

Saksham Kapur started building in March 2026, on evenings and weekends, while consulting full time. Five months later the product is live: a voice agent you can talk to in more than ten languages, live fares, in house ticketing on Duffel, payments through Razorpay, cancellations and rebooking inside the app, and a deal engine that sweeps more than nine hundred routes every day. It recently hit number one Product of the Day on PeerPush.

The AI in the story is not a gimmick and not a ghostwriter. It is a pair programmer, in the codebase every day: drafting systems, hunting bugs, writing migrations, reviewing its own work. The human sets the product taste, makes the calls, and owns every line that ships. The AI makes one person move like a team.

Before Skye, Kapur spent years in ad tech at InMobi, running products serving more than a hundred and twenty million monthly users, and at Pixis. The scale instincts came from there. The urgency came from somewhere more personal: being the person in every friend group who lost entire weekends to twenty open tabs before every trip.
